When? I'm not sure, i think I'm going to sell my 2 wheeled thingy and buy a fun car with the money. Looking for suggestions...here's the criteria. Will need to be under 4k, needs to be rwd or awd, needs to get decent fuel economy (25mpg+ is the goal), needs to have an option for a manual, needs to be reasonable price wise to fix, preferably 2 doors, and preferably less than 25years old.
Things I'm thinking of so far
Miata...of course
3 series bimmers
Impreza
944
300zx
The next 2 are ones i wouldn't be opposed to if i found a good deal
Fox body 'stang
Camaro
So oppo...what am i missing? What else should be on my list of cars to consider?
Here's a nice E30 M3 for your time

The 944 and an e36 3 series are at the top of my list currently...I've always wanted a German car

Almost definitely going to break but it's RWD and has a V8 and isn't a mustang or camaro. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/471114…

L98 C4 Corvette. Fast, fun, and reliable. Plenty of room for stuff, too! Plus classic car insurance affordability. Mine gets between 20 and 25 highway MPG, and there's more usable torque than you could imagine for city driving. I daily drive mine with 130k miles, never gives me a problem and rust isn't a concern!

The
1990 celica All-trac. This satisfies every condition you have listed.

I agree with everything you said but i am sort of inheriting a 1969 vette from my dad so i would like to have a more diverse stable (Yea i know they aren't very similar besides the name but still)

Noted...are these hard to find? i can't say i see many celicas from that generation in general

That is amazing! And yeah, while they handle very differently a lot of the character probably carries over with similar drivetrains and all.

Hard is such a graphic word... but yes. Remember I'm here on the west coast. With enough patience and watchful eyes, I can find most Toyotas. I can remember three of these listed on my local craigslist in the past year. Rarer than 4wd Tercels (but are typically in much better condition).

Yea most of these are probably rusted in peace here on the Midwest...but i wouldn't be opposed to a road trip back from the west coast with my new fun car :) whenever that happens

Yea I'm pretty lucky. It's a 20 footer...looks great from 20feet away, but that's how i like it. I don't want a garage queen I'm afraid to drive

Hey, same with my old C4! I don't want some perfect 25k mile car, though. I'd feel guilty going on a long drive, and that defeats the purpose. Doesn't get much better than a '69, though. Good performance, the great looks of a '68, and not a '68.

I'd do a lot of research on the 944. I have recently been looking into them as well and a belt change is about 2k I think. However if a 944 owner could chime in and clear up why that might help.

Not a 944 owner, but unless you are sure its been changed, change it. When it snaps, so does the engine.
